Gamifying Set Plays: The Free Kick Game

In our First Blog of the Game Design Series, we wanted to establish the importance of a game-based approach:

Game-based practice allows for a greater representative learning opportunity than an unopposed, rehearsal of patterned moves that gives limited opportunities for exploring the game principles.GAME PLAY LEARN

Now we venture to take Set Plays away from the coach’s tactics boards and place it with the minds of our learners and include game principles to gamify, what can be an isolating exercise, to becoming a real-time learning experience.

For development purposes, Set Plays can be a fun, collaborative and creative experience in of themselves. The intent wouldn’t be to rehearse the Set Plays for the weekend match but rather use it as another learning opportunity.

THE FREE KICK GAME

GAME PRINCIPLES
